Worn Out Wednesday September 30, 2009

Had to go to Montgomery last night to see some family that was in a wreck. Had open house Monday night. I am sooooo worn out. Whew! Ready for this week to get the heck out of here!!!
Went for a walk for about 23 minutes after work just to take the edge off. I have missed bringing lunch since I have morning duty all week and I am SOOOO miserable cause it throws my schedule off so badly.
Tummy’s feeling a bit wonky & bloated thanks to those stupid SF choc chips–ugh. Need to get this house clean and get my clothes ironed. Need new clothes that actually fit & are ok for work. Need to do some Calla.
Lots of need to going on!!
Oh, I need to start taking VCO again. The weather has turned so nice & cool, but I miss taking sun.
On a positive note, fall break is just a week and two days away!! :)

 

Super Weekend! September 27, 2009

Sunday’s here & I have had a great weekend! Parties galore, but I did ok!
Too much champagne last night, but that’s ok. After a week of eating clean, I got down to 123.5. Wooot!
I just want to focus on Calla & toning it all up.
Have a long work week ahead, but I’m going to keep the younguns busy as heck so there’s no time for drama.
Just two more weeks until fall break! Yay!

Whew! Wednesday September 23, 2009

First, I’m off. I had to take time off to take DK to the doc for a checkup. I’m so glad to be away from the nuthouse for a little while. This week has been incredibly stressful. I don’t think I could’ve taken another minute of drama today. Kids are acting just horribly.
It feels so good to be somewhere quiet. I just have to hang on for two more days of this yucky week. Next week, I’m going to have some things planned that will keep the kids super busy so they won’t have any time to get wild.
I checked the weight–129!!! Wow–that one binge put 4 pounds on me!! I’m in the midst of TOM, but still. That is a big, fat lesson learned!
I’ve eaten clean though. Have to get back to where I was.
Monday, I did Calla in the p.m. I did it again Tues morning and then came home so stressed that I did t-mill for 15 minutes and more Calla that evening.
I did Calla this morning, too. It feels a lot better to exercise. I have about an hour before I have to get DK, so I might just do some more Calla and walk before I go. I could actually see how my legs and abs have gotten mushier since August. Ugh!!!
EDIT: 6 pm I was 126. Grrrrrrrr. This crazy body!!!

 

One Day at a Time September 20, 2009

Sunday–I’m feeling much better. Went to a baby shower yesterday and you should know, those things are a minefield in terms of food.
I ate some chicken salad and tomatoes in ranch. That was good. I ate a small piece of cake, too. That wasn’t so good.
But I didn’t give up! Came home and made mock mac and cheese with tofu and just ate two small helpings for dinner. That was it. And today I feel much, much better. Yesterday, I was so heavy and uncomfortable that I didn’t even want to move.
It’s still raining. Sigh. I’m going to clean the house today (to work up a sweat) and then do a Calla routine. Also need to get some clothes ironed for next week and make some mock tater salad, so I can hit the hay early tonight. Boy, this weekend is flying by!

 

Mayjuh Setback! September 19, 2009

It has been raining for more than a week, now. I am OVER it!! Aaaaaaagh! I finally get in the mood to go walk and I can’t. No taking sun–sun is nowhere to be found.
This is why you have to take advantage of things when they are there for you. Lesson one!
Lesson two–the remedy is simple. Get on that t-mill and walk! Pop in for a t-bed visit or use one of those lotion tans. Just have to get your arse in gear and do it!
But here’s the big lesson three–crap food ain’t worth it. I am PMSing like a bear (thanks, cheap BP). Thursday and yesterday, I wanted–I craved nothing but junk! And I caved in. Bags of chips, swiss rolls, a candy bar, a thick cheeseburger, a sandwich on white bread, a milkshake and fries!!!!
TOTAL SETBACK. It’s like every low-carb option I had, I rejected. I know what the problem was.
I was truly craving a real piece of dessert–like a good restaurant piece of chocolate cake–and some Mexican restaurant tortilla chips with queso dip. I wanted restaurant food.
I could have gotten take-out, since I was too tired to get up and go to one–but instead, I pigged out on whatever I could find at home (which did NOT satisfy that craving) and I wound up grabbing fast food (which also did NOT satisfy me) and made myself and my tummy absolutely miserable.
If you are truly craving something in particular and a low-carb option isn’t going to satisfy your mean desire, you should either-SUCK IT UP or go get exactly what you want. End of that lesson.
Now, the aftermath. There will be at least a week of damage control to do. Hit that t-mill, do the Calla, eat clean, get sleep, avoid the stress monsters, plan and make meals I like. Find some balance.
I had reached a point of maintenance. Even though I had a goal of 123, I was just three pounds away and had found that I could eat something off-plan about twice a week without damage. I let myself get off-balance, though and that’s where the trouble was.
I have a wedding, a film premiere and two parties to go to next weekend. So the payback starts NOW! I’m motivated to find some balance. :)
P.S. I’m not even going to THINK about stepping on that scale until Wednesday. I know better.

Had a good day–still super busy! I don’t think it’ll slow down until this week’s over. But that’s ok!
Took a walk during planning and took another one after work. Trying to move a little during the day!
I need to be hitting that Calla at least three times a week–so far, I managed it about twice. Don’t want to lose my abs!
My pants are still too loose after about two hours of wear. All that bending and stuff!
Compassion–that is a tough one!! I’m managing ok, but the kids are just too wild to handle this week!
Have been hitting the hay earlier–that helps when I get up so early.
Anyway, made some mock potato salad and it is deeeeelish! Yummy! :) Weight is 126.

After a fitful night’s sleep, I feel pretty good today! I’m so excited, too! I finally found some of the lc stuff that I’d been looking for! Can’t wait to make some more treats. The tofu mac and the slaw were so good. Actually makes me pumped about cooking.
Wore my skinny jeans today! They are super comfortable.
That’s about it. Will do some Calla tonight and must get my clothes ironed for the week (ugh).

 

Cake in a cup and skinny jeans September 12, 2009

(Saturday) Hmmmm. After watching that fluid intake, I think I’ve found a happy medium. Don’t drink quite as much during the day, but hydrate well at night. Maybe? I don’t think 1 liter of fluid is enough for a work day. It’s fine for laying around the house when you’re sick, but I think a little more is required for most days. But, I don’t think over 2 liters is needed.
I’m in love with lc cake in a cup. Microwave style! Boy, does that satisfy those pre-TOM cravings.
About clothes:
I got some skinny black jeans the other day. Now, at first, I tried on clothes in the misses section. I mean, that’s the section I’m supposed to shop in, right?
Well, I found out quickly that it wasn’t. All my stuff came from the juniors section. The jeans were a junior size 7. And they are really cute! Snug and skinny, 80s style fit with a bit of a lower waist. I love them!
I am seriously going to have to get some work pants, though. I wore a pair of my old pants the other day and it was pretty comical. The crotch hung down and the butt looked like a giant, empty bag.
Size 6 and 7 jeans are fine, but pants–I have no luck with. I even got into a pair of 4’s, but they are a little snug. I’m really picky about the kind of pants I like to wear. I don’t like them to be too flowy, but I don’t want them to be too tight, either. I think I’m just an in-between size right now. At 115, I wore size 3 & 4 easily. But at 126.5, I’m not a real size yet. Ah, the confusion!

Early Bird September 11, 2009

Casual day Friday, so I’m ready early. Feeling much better after a good night’s sleep.
Made some lunch stuff, so my tummy will be happy.
I was 127 this morning–up, down, up, down, lol.
I’m looking forward to a calm, relaxing weekend. :)
That’s about it.
EDIT: I’m home and WHEW what a day! These bones are tired!! Hot bath and a blanket are in order!

 

OMG! Stressssss! September 10, 2009

Out to the maaaaax. Ugh! Been working overtime way too much. So glad tomorrow is freaking FRIDAY!
Need to do Calla tonight (did it yesterday for 1st time in a while).
Fluid experiment went ok–I did pretty well. BUT, I botched things up with PIE and sushi on Monday night and then FRIES on Tuesday and I’m STILL paying for it.
Need to get to sleep early again tonight. That always helps.
Tomorrow, I will NOT work so much. Need to cruise a little.
Got some really cute boots and some jackets that are so adorable. But I can’t afford to go over 128 anymore. Didn’t find pants for work and I really, really, need some.
That’s about it. :)

Labor Day–yay!
So yesterday, I wound up drinking about 1 liter total of fluid (not counting food fluid). I’m 125 today and that’s after eating steak and lc choc cake last night (which is soooo good).
Observations: Tummy’s flatter and I feel better this morning. But yesterday I did feel wonky for about 3 hours in the afternoon–it might have just been hunger, though. I sipped on water until dinner and I didn’t drink a lot during dinner like I normally do.
Today is day two of my little experiment. If I get that wonky feeling again, I know I need to drink a little more.

On the non-weight front, I’ve done fairly well with compassion. Have tried to see things from others’ points of view. Have been more patient and generous with my time and effort. I still have moments of anger where I imagine things in my head for a split second, lol–but I’m getting better at coming back to the present and finding the breath. I must sit zazen more. Of course, my back would be hurting today–but that’s all the more reason to sit.
Fall weather is creeping in and that is lovely. Heat agitates the body and mind.

So I’m feeling back to normal–no more sickness!
But I haven’t worked out in 5 days and I’ve eaten too much junk! Fried stuff, cookies, sweets, chips!!
Gotta get back with the plan so I can meet my goal again in a non-sickness way. Have a long weekend so that is really great!
I know that dehydration takes it out of you, but I’m wondering if I overhydrate? Like, when I didn’t drink so much water & tea, I got a really flat stomach. I might try to cut down a little. That sounds crazy, but I probably drink close to 1.5 gallons of fluid a day. That comes out to about 4 or 5 liters.
Here’s the catch–we only need about 2.5 liters of fluid a day. So, I’m drinking double the amount of what I need! And that’s not counting the fluid from food! No wonder I always drop so much water weight when I lay out in the sun!
Anyway, I’m going to give my theory a test run the next four days to see if I’m right. I’ll drink about 1 liter total fluid today and tomorrow. Then, I’ll switch to 1.5 liters the next two days. I’m curious to see what the results will be.
So far: 2 cups coffee=12 ounces
And my weight is 127 today.
Edit: 3 1/2 cups=21 ounces/10 ounces water=31 ounces and I’m down to 125.5. Hmmmmm.

 

Not How I Wanted to Do It September 1, 2009

Came home early yesterday. It was a mistake to try to go back to work. Slept with fever all day again. Will go in later today.
I’m right at goal weight-wise. Unfortunately, it’s due to sickness. Ugh. 123.5 today. I would rather be healthy and still up a few pounds than sick at goal. Feeling better, I’m just very weak.
