We leave for the beach tomorrow!!! I’m soooo excited!
Yesterday, I finally found a cute bikini. The LAST bikini left in town! Only it was a small–not a prob for the top, but I was worried about the bottoms. However, it fit–snugly, but it still fit. At least it won’t ride up too bad!
AND I got about four really cute summer dresses to wear at the beach & some bling to go with em. Probably spent too much, but, hey, I deserve something for all this hard body work, lol!
I’m also tickled that I found the original Callanetics video from the 80s. Mom had that book way back when & I used to do those exercises in high school–they really work if you do them correctly. Never could find that book again, so this video is an awesome find. Gonna put it on my Ipod.
I’ve eaten a lot of green beans lately. Just an observation. I didn’t eat dinner so late last night & I kept it light. At 128 this morning. Did you know that the last time we went to the beach (2 years ago) I was 160?!!! I remember feeling so uncomfortable about my gut (couldn’t do a thing about my legs) & being so self-conscious when pics were taken.
Not gonna worry about that now!
A change of scenery is going to be so nice!

Feeling pretty good today! Ate 3 pcs of BBQ skinless chicken last night when I should’ve stopped at 2, but it was soooo good, lol!
Need to up my VCO. Mix it w/peanut butter before bed & it’s goooood.
Didn’t find a bikini so the search is still on. Gonna break down & take a shower & go look in a little bit.
Am seeing more definition in my calves finally–still have a ways to go. :)
Hubby told me I look “firm” yesterday. Woot!

 

Hard Body July 8, 2009

So the muscles are sooooore today. Going to do a set of pilates. They say pain is supposed to be fear leaving the body. We’ll see!
I’m focusing mainly on my legs, butt & abs. I really want to tone those up! My arms respond well to even the smallest of workouts.
Am meeting a friend for lunch today–going to keep it light and simple. Eating clean, so Ill be ready for the beach!
God, am I so excited about getting out of town & hitting the beach! :)
Oh, I was 128 this morning. Not worried, though. Building some muscle, lol.

ETA: 15×2 squats; 25×3 dumbell swing; 12×3 plies; 60×2 butt crunch; 20×2 double arm raise; 100 ab crunches; 20×2 lunges; 40×2 oblique stretch

Ran/walked 20 min./45 crunches/2×20 calf raise/3×13 bicep curl/2×25 leg raise

Its’ funny how your reps tend to go down when you have proper form. I can feel the muscle tension/fatigue. With poor form (like last year), I could do about 100 calf raises on each leg.
Still working on these abs. I know I can get a six-pack if I try hard enough.
If I stay at it, I think I’ll be pretty darn toned by August when work starts back. I plan to workout at least three days out of our week-long vacation. Hey, who wouldn’t want to work out at the beach, right?

Got my car back. Yay! :)

 

Srs Business July 6, 2009

One week left until our beach vacation! Time to really get down to business. I’ve been eating pretty clean–even over the 4th holiday (probably too many ribs, though). But I’m going to cut down on the animal fat the next few days and will watch my sodium (those darn pickles). I could stand to do some exercise, too, since I haven’t in about a week.

I can’t afford to give myself the reward for the first goal, but I’m still working toward the next one. When I have the money, I will. I’m learning to live without a car since mine is in the shop. I could get depressed over money troubles and car probs, but it will do no good. I’ve also had a lot of friends go through crazy stuff that seems to find its way to me–as if I didn’t have enough stress already!
Things happen and, no matter how bad things get, they are sure to change.

The best thing to do is focus on what I can do. Take care of my house, my plants, my family, eat right, stay positive, etc. The only thing we really have control over is our reaction to everything, right? This is so very true.

Here’s to finding the fun, searching out the blessings, and framing the positive! :)

Steady as She Goes! July 3, 2009

Was 127 again yesterday, so YAY!!! Not a fluke!! Tried on a little denim skirt a student gave me months ago and it fit, BUT it was too big in the waist! That ol’ pear shape!
That’s the thing about being a pair–if I get things to fit in the waist, they’re going to be snug in the legs. But since I’m low-carbing, I’ve noticed that problem isn’t as bad.
Still need to work out more and tone up. Age is a tricky thing!
I’ve worn shorts out in public more this summer than I have in about 7 or 8 years! The best thing about losing weight is not having to worry so much about what you wear.
Well, money is tight, but I still deserve my goal reward!! And I really need a new bikini before our vacation. :)

127!! I know, I know, I’m not going to have it actually count until I can keep it at that for a couple of days.
So much stressful stuff happened today–nothing I need to dwell on & nothing that could be helped.
Sometimes you’ve just gotta roooooll with the punches. :)

Still with the program. Still have my eye on my first goal of 127. Had pizza last night, BUT, I only ate the toppings & instead of eating crust in garlic butter I ate a low-carb tortilla (6c) . Am probably going to get a new swimsuit next weekend. With the beach trip coming up, I am more motivated to be serious.
Been thinking about the trip, too. I’m not going to fool myself into thinking I can stay on plan the whole trip. I think I’ll give myself two days (not in a row) to indulge and the rest of the time stick to my WOE. Although, if I can start the trip closer to my goal, I might be motivated to stay at it!
Until then, just gotta do the work and put the time in to get there. :)

 

Up & Down June 25, 2009

My body is in full pre-TOM mode. Down to 129.5 today after hitting 133 yesterday. Hoover Dam, indeed.
I’m feeling better, though. Getting those carbs outta my system. DK & I did our workout yesterday & then the whole fam went for a nice walk yesterday evening. I love going for after dinner walks. We have to wait until 7 pm so the weather has cooled off a bit.
I sweat so much just being in the heat. You just step outside on the porch and before you know it, you’re dripping! I drink lots of fluids, but I still sweat so much. And when we workout, we are drenched!

In this week’s news-a 5 pound gain! Did it to myself. Ugh. OK, so we have about 3 or 4 weeks until we go to the beach so I’ve got time to rectify the damage. Still keeping an eye on my goals. I’m learning the lesson about that sabotage thing. It’s not worth it. No sweets, no breads, no starches can really make me feel better. I’ll just feel like crap!
It will likely take a good week or so before I can see progress again, but–lesson learned!

So I was 128 yesterday. Gotta keep working on my first mini goal of 127. Keep my eye on the prize!
I’ve been checking out Sugar Free Sheila’s website. Wow, does she have a lot of great recipes & info. I have finally started getting into the kitchen and trying some stuff (like the cookies, the chicken, the cheese, etc.) and I’m amazed at how much of it tastes really good! And how I can actually make it!
Last night I went to dinner with Dad & I ordered a cheeseburger sans bun–but I also got onion rings & they were battered so heavily! Big no-no. I ate just a few, though. :(
I need to quit staying up so late. Not sure what it is that makes me do that. Probably way too much caffeine from drinking tea all day.
Guess I need to try my watered down Sprite zero again. :)

 

Why did I do that? June 17, 2009

So last night, hubby ate cinnamon rolls. I wanted one–but I made some lc cookies w/almond flour instead. The batch made 8 cookies–I ate 5. OK, not the end of the world. They were pretty good & that should have been where I stopped.
BUT, then I proceeded to eat a WHOLE bag of garlic bagel chips!! And they didn’t even taste that great!!! I’m sitting there eating them thinking “These aren’t good & I don’t really want them” but I kept eating them like it was some kind of mission to clear the whole bag. STUPID!
The one good thing was that I had an awful stomach ache all night & went to the bathroom about 3 times this morning. My poor tummy was like “What IS this stuff, woman???!!!!!”
I’ll have to reaaally watch the carb count for the next few days. Oh, well, lesson learned.

I need to be careful about that whole getting close to goal & sabotaging myself thing. I’m not there yet & when I do get there, I need to remember how hard and how long this whole thing has taken.
My goal is still 123. I know I can get there.

I think I need to focus on 127 for the moment–something short-term to work toward.
And I need to think of a pay-off. That’s the big thing. My weight loss occurs so gradually that I forget to give myself a real reward for it. Maybe that’s why I do the sabotage thing–I grow complacent.

So–if I get to 127, I’ll give myself:
*A trip to the beauty shop to get my hair done.
*A necklace/earring set and a ring I like.

126, I’ll give myself:
*Four new bra/panty sets (my underwear is too big now, lol!!)
*A pack of new socks (love those)
*Two books that I want
*2 new pairs of earrings

125, I’ll give myself:
*A little black dress (I need one for funerals, lol!)
*A work dress
*2 new skirts
*2 new tops

124, I’ll give myself:
*Three new pairs of pants
*4 new tops
*2 more bra/panty sets

123, I’ll give myself:
*2 new necklace, earring sets
*2 rings
*2 new pairs of shoes
*2 new pairs of pants
*New set of MAC makeup
*Two more books I want

Ok, so there it is! And when I maintain 2-3 pounds w/in my goal each month, I’ll do a reward then. :)

Whew! Been a busy few weeks! But I had a lot of fun times, too.
First, I got some new clothes–nothing big, just tanks & such.
Tanks-got smalls & they fit good. Ironically, they’re kind of snug in the chest, but a bigger size would’ve gapped open, soooo. Embrace the flatness, haha!
Shorts-got a pair of jean shorts. Now, mind you, I was in the juniors section. The 7/8s fit but I didn’t like how they looked. I like my jean shorts to hang a bit low in the waist, so I opted for the 9’s. A little Daisy Dukish, but, hey, it’s SUMMER!
The size 7 shorts I got at goodwill the other week are fitting loose now. :)
Jean capris-got the 7/8s & they fit just right.
That’s really all I got. I tried on a number of sundresses (size small) but they were fitting biggish. I really don’t like that empire waist style that is sooooo in right now either.
My size 6 jeans that I got for Xmas of 2006 fit just right now & the black crazy pants I got at the same time & have NEVER worn are too big in the waist & loose in the legs. Madness.
Good thing I live in a bikini during summer.
Weight is still about the same, too. Even after Jazz Fest & the CARBS I ate! Chips, a deep-fried oreo, Krystal burgers!!!! Oh, well–I had fun!
I’ve got to watch the pickles, though–oooh, they make me hold water!
It’s starting to get god-awful hot, now, so working out has to be done before 8 am or we die.
Things have slowed down in my life for now, thank goodness. Just trying to enjoy each day as it comes. :)

Still enjoying my summmmma! Just got finished laying out–hit a new low–128!! (duh, after sweating so much!). Gotta get some clothes for JF next weekend. Hot here–summer has offish arrived. That’s about it! :) Might update more later.

Update: Laying off so many diet sodas is helping, I think. Drinking lots of water. Got a George Foreman grill & we did burgers on it last night. They were pretty good. Found a way to make chocolate w/coconut oil, cocoa & coconut flakes–wasn’t that bad, either. All in all, I really like eating low carb and I don’t miss bread, pasta, rice or sweets that much.
I’d still like to get down to 123, but I’m pretty happy where I am. It sure as heck beats the 150 where I was last year! I’m still sort of in-between sizes at the moment. Size 6 jeans fit good, just a tad snug. Shorts & dresses all run the gamut. I think with 5 pounds gone, I’ll be able to wear what I’ve got comfortably & that’s all I want–to throw it on & not worry about it! :)

May 28-Thurs-Went to Auburn w/fam–had fun! Ate ice cream though–yikes! Thought they had sugar-free but they didn’t. Fell into a 3 hour sugar-coma nap. Know not to do that again!

May 29-Friday-Ran intervals in cemetery w/DK. 5 sets! Tired, but we did it! DK is such a trooper! Sun is finally showing itself in big form–wooo-hooo! Bikini time! :)

 

Dead running May 27, 2009

DK & I did our cemetery workout again today. It’s tough, but we feel good afterward.
Ran 2 laps, walked 2 laps.
Friday, we’re going to try intervals.
DK wants to get rid of his poptart gut & I want to tone up my legs. If we keep this up, I think we’ll be in pretty good shape by the end of June.
Bought some shorts at the goodwill–I hope they fit!

Today is Monday. It has rained all day since Thursday. I’m over the rain!
All this inside time has me thinking about projects for summer. I’m re-doing my room at work. That will be a big change.
I also want to re-do the computer room at home. It needs sprucing up.
I really hope the sun comes out today.
EDIT: Aaaand the sun came out!
DK & I started our summer workout. M, W, F, & Sat.
Today we ran 2 & walked 2 big cemetery laps. DK had a tough go on the second run lap, but he hung in there! He wants to drop about 15 pounds (he weighs the same as me right now). I think he can do it! :)

Thank GAWD!!! Here are my goals for this summer:
1. Drop seven pounds to get to 123. That’s what I weighed in high school & that will be enough!
2. Build muscle by working out 4 days a week. Whether it’s pilates, cardio, weights or walking, I just need to moooooove!
3. Meditate. Devote time to clearing out my monkey mind.

Anything else I accomplish is just gravy. These 3 goals are what I’m specifically aiming for. :)

(2 MONTH PLAN)

DAY 1: SUN 3/29
WORKOUT___60 MIN WALK/JOG TREADMILL (3 MILES/-500 CALS)
COMMENTS: AFTER A BAD BINGE YESTERDAY, I MADE MYSELF GO LONGER TODAY. I EVEN WORE A 16-POUND BACKPACK (FILLED W/BOOKS) FOR 15 MIN. OF IT. SO, I’M OFF TO A TOUGH START, BUT I DID HAVE THE ENERGY TO GET THROUGH IT. TOMORROW, I’M SCHEDULED TO LIFT WEIGHTS. OH & BTW, DOING 100 CRUNCHES–SUCKS! I MEAN IT. DONE PROPERLY, THOSE DARN THINGS ARE TOUGH.
E.T.A.-I SUCCESSFULLY ATE LIGHT TODAY, THOUGH (LESS THAN 1200).

DAY 2: MON 3/30
WORKOUT___WALKED AN HOUR ON THE TRACK AT WORK & THEN DID A SHORT WALK WHEN I GOT HOME (W/DK & DOG).
COMMENTS:I’M TIRED–MY LEGS ARE SO TIRED SO I’M NOT GOING TO DO WEIGHTS TONIGHT. I CAN’T DWELL ON IT, BUT EATING ALL THAT CRAP SATURDAY WAS REALLY A STUPID MOVE–I’M STILL PAYING FOR IT.
BUT I HAVE TO LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE, I ATE OK TODAY-STAYED AROUND 1300.

DAY 3:TUES 3/31
WORKOUT__WALK/JOGGED 30 MIN ON TREADMILL (270 CAL)/100 CRUNCHES/50 PUSHUPS
COMMENTS: MY LEGS DEFINITELY FELT BETTER TODAY SO I THINK IT WAS A GOOD CALL TO NOT LIFT YESTERDAY. STUCK TO AROUND 1300 TODAY (ATE A SPOONFUL OF PEANUT BUTTER). TOMORROW AT 3:30 IS WEIGH-IN. I’M GOING TO TRY TO NOT EAT AFTER 11 AM–EVEN THOUGH THE DAMAGE MAY ALREADY HAVE BEEN DONE (SATURDAY). OH, WELL–WHATEVER THE OUTCOME, I’M BACK ON TRACK AND FEEL PRETTY GOOD. :)
ALSO, I’VE BEEN WORKING OUT FOR A MONTH AND HAVEN’T SMOKED FOR A MONTH. :)

DAY 4: WED 4/1
WORKOUT__WALKED 1 HOUR ON TRACK
COMMENTS: SO I WEIGHED 139.6–SO I GAINED .6! NOT AS BAD AS I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE AFTER SATURDAY’S JUNK, BUT NOT REALLY GOOD NEWS, EITHER. I LOVE THE ENERGY THE SHOT GIVES ME. I LOVE NOT SMOKING ANYMORE. I LOVE EXERCISING REGULARLY.
BUT I DON’T REALLY LOVE THE DOC’S DIET & I DON’T DO IT AS SERIOUSLY AS I SHOULD AND THAAAAAAT’S WHY I HAVEN’T LOST. MY DAD IS DOING AMAZING, THOUGH! HE IS SO DEDICATED & SO IS MOM! I’M REALLY PROUD OF THEM BOTH!
ONE OF MY KIDS GAVE ME A BUNCH OF JEANS THAT ARE TOO BIG FOR HER NOW. WELL, IF I’M GONNA FIT INTO THOSE JEANS, I’VE GOT TO GET WITH THE PROGRAM!
ATE AROUND 1100 TODAY.

DAY 5: THUR 4/2
WORKOUT___JOG/WALKED 23 MINUTES ON TREADMILL (MOSTLY JOG)/100 CRUNCHES, 40 PUSHUPS/WALKED 1 HOUR ON THE TRACK
COMMENTS:I CAN SEE IT! I CAN SEE A 1-PACK ON MY STOMACH!! YAY, LOL! NOT STAYING SO MUCH WITHIN 1300 TODAY–BUT I SURE GOT MY EXERCISE IN. :)

DAY 6: FRI 4/3
WORKOUT___WALKED ABOUT 50 MINUTES ON TRACK TODAY & THEN TOOK A STROLL W/FAM AFTER WORK. 100 CRUNCHES/50 PUSHUPS
COMMENTS:DIDN’T LIFT WEIGHTS. NOT SURE WHY I’M NOT DOING THAT. FELT OK, BUT GOT IN A SPAT W/DH & FOR THE FIRST TIME IN WEEKS, I WOULD REAAAAALLY LOVE A CIG. BUT I WON’T DO THAT.

DAY 7: SAT 4/4
WORKOUT___JOG/WALKED 32 MIN ON TREADMILL. 100 CRUNCHES/50 PUSHUPS. WALKED AROUND BLOCK W/FAM IN AFTERNOON.
COMMENTS: IF I DIDN’T WORK OUT ON A DAY, I’D FEEL ABNORMAL. THAT’S WHERE I’M AT NOW. HOWEVER, I DO THINK MY LEGS NEED SOME REST NOW & THEN. WE WENT TO AUBURN & HAD A GREAT TIME–I ATE NONFAT YOGURT INSTEAD OF ICE-CREAM, SO GO ME! I HAD SORT OF A FREE DAY, BUT I WASN’T TOO BAD WITH IT. MIGHT START KEEPING A FOOD LOG AGAIN, THOUGH. I GOT A PILATES VID THAT I THOUGHT I’D TRY TOMORROW.
I HAVE DEFINITELY NOTICED MY ABS STARTING TO SHAPE UP–BUT THERE’S STILL A LAYER OF FAT OVER THEM & THAT WON’T GO AWAY UNTIL I GET STRICT ABOUT FOOD (WHICH I’M NOT READY TO DO YET).

DAY 8:SUN 4/5
WORKOUT___100 CRUNCHES/50 PUSHUPS
COMMENTS:THAT’S RIGHT–I DIDN’T DO THE CARDIO. I WAS WORN SLAP OUT. ATE TOO MUCH JUNK, TOO. SO THERE.

DAY 9: MON 4/6
WORKOUT___WALKED 2 MILES-35 MINUTES
COMMENTS:FASTING A BIT TODAY W/CHICKEN SOUP/HAD UPSET TUMMY THIS AFTERNOON. GLAD I HAVE SOME TIME OFF TOMORROW.

DAY 10: TUES 4/7/09
WORKOUT___NO WORKOUT TODAY. HAD TO WORK & GO TO AUBURN FOR AN APPT.
COMMENTS: FEEL OK. WEIGHED 143 AT DOC W/BOOTS & CLOTHES ON. BOUGHT SOME SHIRATAKI NOODLES THAT WERE AWESOME.

DAY 11: WED 4/8/09
WORKOUT____WALKED AROUND CEMETERY FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES AFTER DINNER.
COMMENTS: JUST FELT KINDA TIRED & DOWN. DIDN’T GET MY SHOT TODAY. HAD TO GO TO VISIT. FOR SOMEONE WHO DIED (SAD).

DAY 12: THUR 4/9/09
WORKOUT___WALKED AROUND CEMETERY W/DK FOR ABOUT 16 MINUTES.
COMMENTS: AGAIN, FELT DOWN. WENT TO A FUNERAL. BUT AM JUST BLASE ABOUT EVERYTHING. EATING TOO MUCH JUNK, TOO.

DAY 13: FRI 4/10/09
WORKOUT___WALKED A MILE AT WORK.
COMMENTS: FELT TIRED, CRABBY & DOWN ALL DAY. ATE TONS OF SWEETS & JUNK, TOO (WHICH NEVER HELPS). I DON’T KNOW WHERE THIS IS COMING FROM, BUT I PLAN TO PUT A STOP TO IT TOMORROW. I THINK EATING LOWER-CARB MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA & I HAVE GOT TO GET BACK TO EXERCISING WELL.
THIS SHOULD ALSO BE A LESSON TO ME TO NOT SKIP MY SHOT AGAIN!

DAY 14: SAT-4/11/09
WORKOUT____WALKED 35 MIN IN CEMETERY & JOGGED 10 MIN ON TREADMILL

SOMETIMES, I HAVE TO BE HUNGRY WHEN I DON’T HAVE ACCESS TO WHAT I CAN EAT (NO BREADS, NO SWEETS, ETC.)–BUT EVEN IF I HAVE TO WAIT TO GET TO A DRIVE-THRU SO I CAN HAVE A BURGER PATTY, I KNOW IT’S WORTH IT. TRYING ON CLOTHES (EVEN OUT OF MY OWN CLOSET) WITHOUT THAT SENSE OF DREAD IS A HUGE WEIGHT LIFTED. BEING ABLE TO WEAR A BIKINI & NOT FEEL SELF-CONSCIOUS IS A HUGE WEIGHT LIFTED. WEARING SHORTS OUT IN PUBLIC WITHOUT FEELING SELF-CONSCIOUS IS A HUGE WEIGHT LIFTED. I WASN’T OBESE OR ANYTHING BEFORE, BUT, WITH MY BUILD, I WAS HEAVY. NOW, I CAN SEE THE MUSCLES THAT WERE HIDING UNDER THAT FAT!
PEOPLE TELL ME–”WELL, WHEN YOU EAT STARCHES/SWEETS AGAIN, YOU’RE GOING TO GAIN WEIGHT.” WELL, DUH! YOU’LL DO THE SAME WHEN YOU BREAK ANY DIET. I JUST FEEL LIKE I’VE FOUND WHAT WORKS BEST FOR MY BODY AND WHAT I CAN LIVE WITH FOR A LONG TIME. (THAT OLD 1100 CAL A DAY DIET DEFINITELY WASN’T IT. EATING WHOLE FOODS DEFINITELY WASN’T IT.) PASSING UP CAKE OR BREAD TO BE ABLE TO WEAR MY CLOTHES ISN’T DEPRIVATION FOR ME. IN FACT, WHEN I ATE PASTA/SWEETS ON DK’S BIRTHDAY, I PHYSICALLY FELT LIKE CRAP AFTERWARD–SO THAT’S ENOUGH MOTIVATION FOR ME!
SO I’M GOING TO START MY SUMMER JOURNAL & WORK ON THESE LAST SEVEN POUNDS. MAYBE I’LL GET THERE. MAYBE I WON’T. I CAN TAKE WHAT I’VE DONE NOW & STILL BE HAPPY. :)

Yeah–so this morning about 7 am, things finally happened. And again. And again aaaall day thanks to laxatives.
It’s rice. Rice, rice cakes, rice flour. I cannot eat anything that has rice. At least not regularly.\
And no more Balance Bars. I think they messed with me, too.
So, I am going to do something really subversive for the next week or so.
I’m going to stay around 1200 cals. I’m going to keep working out & getting my shot.
But I’m going to eat things that aren’t quite as low-fat–cause that route just doesn’t work with my stomach.
And this crap about breakfast. I’m over it. I’ll just have a mid-morning snack instead.
That’s about it. :)

Constipated again. It actually hurt today. I don’t know if it’s nerves or the diet or what.
I added cheese & fat stuff to my food today & drank aloe vera juice to see if that helps. What’s the point of being on a diet if you get constipated?????
I’ve been working out & eating right—maybe I’m not getting enough fat? That can’t be right, can it?
All I know is that I can’t go on like this for another day.
I even took a dulcolax (just one) & god knows how I hate those darn things! :(
But the good news is that I’m really toning up! Even the ol’ legs are getting back in shape! I wore a skirt today (that is a BFD, ok!). :)

Well, it’s a beautiful morning! This is the last day of spring break & boy, have I had a great one!
I didn’t do much spring cleaning; I didn’t plant; I didn’t prep my school work. But I did enjoy myself every, single day and that’s all that matters. :)
Went to a cookout last night & had a lot of fun. I didn’t drink a single drop of alcohol and I stayed within the old diet, so that was good, too!
I’m going to enjoy today and do a little cleaning & prepping for tomorrow. Only 9 more weeks until school is OUT! Wooooo-hoooo! :)

Bad choice–ate over my limit yesterday.
Good choice–ate only 290 cals at movies instead of splurging on popcorn & sweets.
This just means I have to make a 290 cal deficit today by cutting back. Plus, I’m about to go exercise & will try to burn an extra 100 calories to offset it.
It’s always been tricky for me to go to the movies without getting my large buttered popcorn & m&ms. And I loooooove going to the movies. So I’m at least proud that I made a smart choice as to what to eat (protein bar & 90 cal mini rice cake pack).
I think I ate too much for lunch yesterday. It’s like it set me off later on and made me ravenous!
I have felt much better eating more proteins and less carb-heavy stuff. That’s been a good change.
And I am waking up so much easier than before.
I just want to know if I’ve lost any weight!

Feeling goooood March 20, 2009

I woke up so peacefully this morning! And at 6:30! Usually I can sleep in til at least 7:30, but I felt refreshed & wonderful this morning.
Had a little harder time yesterday with the diet. I had to really check myself. But SugarFree Jello pudding cups made life easier, haha! I’m still staying around the allotted amount, though & still getting a calorie deficit in with my exercise.
It’s also kind of hard not to weigh myself. I haven’t done it–I haven’t cheated! But I’m so curious. Then again, it’s also a bit of a relief not to be a slave to that darn thing.
Got some Balance Bars to eat for breakfast when work starts back. They’re ok. At least it’s better than me skipping it. :)

So I went to the doc & he put me on 1100 calories per day! I weighed in at 140 w/clothes on & a bmi of about 22. Got the b12 shot & then I came home & took a nap. Go figure.
Hopefully it will kick in over the next day or so.
This diet is strict. I’m going to have to get creative and plan my meals more carefully. I’m not worried about the exercise part–I’m worried about the portion part.
Dad’s doing it with me–so that makes me, him & mom now!
My goal—– is—–120. :)

The Great Ab Experiment March 17, 2009

I used to have amazing abs. Really. I had a six-pack when I was in middle school. My abs were my pride and joy.
OK, so I haven’t seen my abs in at least a decade, now. So I thought I might try to change that.
Great abs are about 70% diet and 30% workout. I really hate that fact. But I accept it.
I’m going to give it three weeks on a good diet and a 3 x week ab routine to see if I notice any results. If I do, I’ll stick with it til I’m pleased.

Well . . . March 15, 2009

I’m pretty much getting used to the whole not smoking thing. Like, I’m still a bit tense when I anticipate waiting around somewhere for a while. But it’s nothing big. Chewing on those straws has helped enormously!
I find myself repelled by the smell of cigarettes, now & can tell when someone has been smoking. I’ve got two weeks and two days under my belt! I am so glad I made the choice to quit. When I see how much money it took up and how much the cost is going to go up, I am relieved!
So–I’m over the big hump w/smoking (1 month, 3 months, 6 months to 1 year are the next milestones). Now, I’ve got to get back to working on my weight. I’m still not too far away from my goal of 130. I’ve been doing this for about a year, though & it would be nice to hit that goal before May.
Going to see the Dr. on Wednesday. Maybe some structure will help. :)
